Rollin’ & Scratchin’

For those of you who’ve followed Rollin’ and Scratchin’ over the last year, you’ll know that we appreciate a wide range of genres.  Sure, it might seem like we specialize in posting banger tracks, and sweat stained t-shirt anthems, but don’t be so quick to judge.  We enjoy a well crafted songwriter just as much as the next blogger.

Toronto’s Valery Gore is one of those artists.  Although she’s received critical acclaim across the continent for both of her albums, she’s one of those artist’s that just can’t seem to break the mold of female singer/songwriters that are sprouting from the ground faster than a batch of foot-a-day Kudzu plants (google this, it’s wild!).  Thankfully, for Valery, she’s got worlds of talent to out grow any of these weeds.

After listening to her sophomore record, “Avalanche To Wandering Bear”, I couldn’t help but think that there was a batch of songs ripe for remixing.  Lucky for us, Ms. Gore’s label, Do Right Music, has posted a remix contest for all you producers out there.  So people, take your pick, and show us what you’ve got!
