Rollin’ & Scratchin’

It’s always nice to hear some local talent make a bit of noise on the scene. When we first saw Golden Girls do his thing, it was actually at our June monthly night. We were in a bit of a bind to find an opening act to play our Hot Summer Night’s party, and we had many of our close friends tell us that we should ask GG’s to play. Sure enough, he agreed and wowed the crowd with a short, but electro-pop infused set that made the dance floor sweat.

If you haven’t heard of Golden Girls, consider yourself educated. Matthew Vlahovich writes short, but catchy pop tunes on a Casio Tone keyboard, about one night stands and indecent proposals, hot enough to make any girl melt. If you don’t believe us, just listen to his latest single, “Big League”, about a small town boy moving with big city dreams. This track has late 80’s, post-punk, New Order written all over it. Frankly, he does it better than most of the new wave revival shit out there today (you all know who you are!!!). Keep an eye out for this cat. He’s not going to be lurking in the shadows for long.
