Rollin’ & Scratchin’

There’s been no shortage of postings related to MGMT of late. First it was for their debut single, ‘Time To Pretend’. Then for the next, ‘Electric Feel’ that rose from the ashes with various incarnations from Justice to James Rutledge. But it wasn’t until I caught wind that there was an infamous bootleg from a recent Soulwax concert containing a version of MGMT’s latest single, ‘Kids’, did I really start to take interest.

I’m a sucker for a few things. A pretty lady, a pint of Guinness, and a Soulwax remix. This one in particular blows all other MGMT reworks out of the water (sorry Xavier and Gaspard. I love you but some new sounds wouldn’t kill ya.) Finally, we’ve got our hands on a decent version. This track makes me feel like I’m back in 1997 listening to ‘Dig Your Own Hole’ for the first time. You heard it here first! The Chemical Brothers next collaboration will be with MGMT! But I wouldn’t go spinning this yet, because an official release is sure to pop up sometime soon.
