Rollin’ & Scratchin’

I’ve been praising PILOTPRIEST for years now and every time he releases a song I’m stunned that more people don’t lose their minds over it. I think he quite possibly has one of the best remixes of the year… for the last 3 years (I say ‘I think’ because I’m unsure of when I grabbed his Run DMC remix but I think it was in late ‘07). He just kills it with every song and is able to put staple PILOTPRIEST sounds into every song while still making everything sound new and original.

Well with his latest remix of Toronto act Lioness‘ “You’re My Heart”, he continues the onslaught.

There is something for everyone in this song and I mean that in the most serious way. It’s kind of an epic song (even for club tunes) clocking in at 7:21 but you have to keep in mind that in that time he does about a minute of straight piano and vocals, then switches it up to a bit of a french touch groove for 3 minutes, flips it back to some piano and vocals, and then at the 4:30 mark hits you with mind melting chainsaw synths that will make even the hardest of electro lovers clench their teeth in glee.

Somebody please give this guy some money so we can hear a whole album.
