Miike Snow vs. Peter Bjorn and John - Rollin' & Scratchin'

Miike Snow vs. Peter Bjorn and John

We all know that Miike Snow has been one of the most talked about bands over the last few months.  First we saw of this ‘mysterious’ band was a couple of high profile remixes from the likes of Crookers, DJ Mehdi, and Treasure Fingers for their two lead singles ‘Animal’ and ‘Burial’.  Next up, we saw Miike Snow remixing the already popular Vampire Weekend and their track ‘Kids Don’t Stand A Chance’.  After spreading through the blogosphere like wild fire – thanks to their label and official endorser Downtown Records/Downtown Records – Miike Snow have quickly become a force to be reckoned with.

We now know that they are a three piece made up of two Swedish producers, Bloodshy and Avant, and American singer Andrew Wyatt, and that their debut album will be released on June 9th.  So, is this the new model to market and release an otherwise unknown band?  It certianly would appear that way.

Their most recent effort comes from remixing of Peter Bjorn and John’s, ‘It Don’t Move Me’.  This one sizes up nicely to the Vampire Weekend remix.  Oh yeah, and did we mention that Miike Snow will be playing their first ever North American date at our Rollin’ & Scratchin’ party on June 5th?  Yeah……Thought you’d like that!
