Dark Night of the Soul

As music and film lovers, we’ve all been privy to a few ’shot in the dark’ collaborations where seemingly overconfident producers and songwriters team up with a slew of other artists to create something that is larger than life.

Danger Mouse has always set his sights high.  Past collaborations have included Madlib, MF Doom, Damon Albarn, and Beck: which have all been successes in their own right.  But this time around, Mr. Burton has decided to shoot for the stars by teaming up with Sparklehorse and David Lynch, of all people!!!   ‘Dark Night of The Soul’ is an audiovisual collaborative journey that includes the likes of Julian Casablanca, Frank Black, Gruff Rhys, and Iggy Pop to name a few.  Sounds like a tribute to the ‘Lead Singers for Great Bands Past’.

But in all seriousness, pretty much every song you’ll hear from this album is unique and entertaining.  And to give you a little peak into the Flaming Lips new LP, here’s their collabo with Danger Mouse and Co.
